Abstract Ocean Art by Antuanelle

Sydney-based artist Marie Antuanelle, known simply as Antuanelle, creates abstract artwork inspired by the untouched Earth. Combining swirling colors and found objects—including gemstones and seashells—the abstract pieces offer a bird’s-eye view of the ocean shore. Antuanelle’s ability to capture the essence of the water is incredible; by mixing and layering colors and textures, she imitates the white caps on crashing waves as well as the brilliant hues that make up the ocean, from cerulean to turquoise.

Antuanelle’s abstract art  “spark conversations about the importance of marine conservation” by connecting people to the beauty of beaches and ocean reserves. Through incorporating real items within her painting, she “highlights how precious natural beauty is to humanity” by “erasing any traces of human presence to impart the feeling of a completely free and pure world.” This sentiment is palpable within her work. With just a glance, we are transported to the tranquility of the secluded locales.

Antuanelle sells her work as originals and prints through her online shop.
